For Students…

The LCC Massage Therapy Program is comprised of approximately 600 contact hours. This well exceeds the minimum 500 hours required by the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists for licensure. Of those 500 hours: 200 must be in health sciences, including Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, and Kinesiology, and 300 must be dedicated to the practice and theory of massage and bodywork, as well as to courses on the laws, ethics, and the business of the profession.

As of the 2009 schoolyear, tuition and fees total $5200, and textbook costs are approximately $500. Students are also required to hold personal liablity insurance for hands-on classes, which can be purchased through several professional associations for about $65. Hands-on classes will also require that students receive three professional massages through the duration of the program, which will total about $150, and buy supplies such as sheets. Because the program is non-credit, students do not qualify for federal financial aid packages, but alternatives are available.
