Hello all! The summer Massage Program class schedule is now posted. It is not available yet on the main LCC site, for registration purposes, but you can check it out and plan for your future by clicking here!

Please take note: we are mixing things up this summer and trying “intensive” sections in many courses, meaning that classes will run twice a week in either the first or last five weeks of the term. You will need to plan accordingly, keeping in mind that the same amount of material will be presented in a compressed format. That’s twice the studying and homework in half the time. There are advantages, of course, such as the chance to take half the summer off from school, or the opportunity to complete classes in a series that would normally take two terms to complete. So, have a look at the schedule and begin to plan for what will work best for you!

Hello all. We have made some changes to the spring 2009 schedule. We have contacted all registered students who are affected, so we hope that no one is inconvenienced by the change – which was actually made to correct some inconveniences in the schedule. :)

Here are the changes:
COMMUNICATION FROM THE HEART ONE was on Thursdays from 6-9pm, and is now on Wednesdays from 6-9pm

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICES was on Wednesdays from 6-8pm, and is now on Thursdays from 4-6pm

APP 5 was on Wednesdays from 1-4pm, and is now on Thursdays from 9:30am-12:30pm

A CPR class for Massage Students is available on March 6th, from 9:00am to 1:30pm. This class was only just listed online. You can register for it by using CRN 32395. The class is $55 and will offer participants the chance to receive an American Heart Association two-year CPR certificate. Certification is required by the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists in order to be licensed. If you are near the end of your massage studies, this class is one more “to do” item you can check off your list!

UPDATE: You can now register online for the new APP I section by using the old APP V CRN – 32123.

 Hello massage students! We are making a change from the APP sections published in the print and online catalogs in the coming term - due to low enrollment in Thursday evening’s APP V (CRN 32123) class, and full enrollment in Friday morning’s APP I (32072) class.  APP V will be cancelled for Winter term and will begin instead in the Spring 2009 term. A second section of APP I will be held on Thursday evenings from 5:00-8:00pm. Currently, there is no way to register for this new section, as no CRN has been assigned. If you would like to attend APP I on Thursday evenings, please come to the first class – on Thursday, January 8th at 5:00pm – in room 235 at the Downtown Center. You must attend this first class to be registered!

Well, it’s that time again… the Fall term is nearly upon us! For those of you interested in registering for classes in the coming term, see the listings of both pre-licensure and CE courses. We have changed and rearranged some pre-licensure classes, and are offering a very full schedule of CE options. There’s something for everyone, so we think you’ll be sure find something that sparks your interest!

We want this transition to be as seamless as possible for students, so we urge you to ask questions if anything is unclear!

The Massage Therapy Program at LCC is undergoing some changes in the coming term: many fall term classes will have new names, some first-time classes will be offered, and some won’t be offered anymore! To help keep everything straight during these transitions, stay tuned to this site. We will be adding a “Then & Now” table to the homepage soon – to help illustrate which classes will be known by a new name. And, when the fall schedule is finalized, we will have all available classes listed here.
